Very disappointing
This is a very cute item and I was so excited to give this as a Christening gift a few months ago. After visiting the gift recipient recently, I noticed that the bank was SEVERELY tarnished. Coming back and reading some of these reviews, I see this is a common problem. As to the comment posted below ("This item is silver plated. Like any silver item, it is comprised of malleable metal which can show signs of wear. We recommend a jewelry polishing cloth to keep it in optimal condition.."), I understand this is a silver plated item and needs to be polished, but it should not have almost completely tarnished after only 3 months. I own many silver plated items and have never seen anything like this before. I am embarrassed to have given this as a gift.

Beautiful Gift!
I gave this bank as a gift to my God son when he was Baptized. It was perfect for the occasion. His engraved name and encouraging words fit perfectly. The parents were very appreciative of this gift.

Beautiful
This bank is beautiful. It's a baptism gift and it's perfect. I had a lot of engraving done on both sides and I was definitely nervous about it. The engraving is gorgeous, perfectly spaced and easy to read.
I recommend this product highly, I think my nephew will have this bank forever.

Nice
I am not sure about those other revivers. It clearly states that the item is silver plated - so yes it is going to tarnish. That being said you have to polish it with a jewelry cloth. Not that hard to do.

shiny and cute
I received this today. Upon opening it, I was pleasantly surprised as to the quality and no tarnishing. I am pleased to give this to my grandson. I only wish that it was a little bigger.

Tarnished
We received this as a gift for our baby. I was going to buy one for another friend's baby but decided not to because like in the other reviews, the top on ours tarnished. It's a nice gift but I can't buy it for someone knowing that it will tarnish. Unfortunate because I really think its a great gift.

undecided
I have bought this bank for both of my children for their baptism. They both have tarnished like other post I have read. With my third child on the way I was thinking of also getting this for her, but am undecided because of the tarnish issues. It is a cute bank though.

Engraved Top Tarnished
We received two of these banks...one for each of our babies when they were Baptized. We were so happy because they are so pretty and were engraved with their names. I brought them home and set them on their bookshelves and about 2 months later I went to add money and the tops of both of them were severely tarnished. Store has offered to replace however based on another review they will tarnish as well. Going to check with the store to see if I can get a different item...that hopefully will not have to sit in a box forever to keep it from wrecking.
