Graduating senior, Carolyn Pratt, surrounded by family members and bouquets of flowers is honored at the North Carolina A&T swimming team's Senior Recognition Ceremony. Pratt has been an important part of the program since she joined as a sophomore. The moving Senior Night ceremony followed a tradition that has been in place for several years. Head coach Shawn Hendrix states "I go to Things Remembered and get each senior an engraved jewelry box. Every senior has gotten one, since I've been here. It says 'Aggie Swimming' with their graduation year." As her swimming career comes to a close within the next month, Pratt said the biggest thing she will miss from collegiate athletics are her teammates.

37 years ago my parents started a tradition when they got married. Every Xmas, they went to Things Remembered and bought ther ornament and had it engraved with their name and year. When I was born 31 years ago, they did the same for me. Now, my son is 2 and we are purchasing our 3rd ornament for him from Things Remembered. Our tree is ONLY ornaments that we have collected from Things Remembered! ...37 from my parents, 31 for me, 7 for me and my partner, and 3 for our son! Our biggest joy every year is going to pick out our newest ornaments and having them engraved. Then, we go look at all the ornaments on our tree and think about when we got them:) 3 generations of Things Remembered happy moments via their engraved ornaments collection:) Thanks Things Remembered for being part of our happiness every season! (If counting, our tree has 78 things remembered ornaments on it!) and every one is special.

On our wedding day, I surprised my husband with a matching set of cake cutters and toasting glasses. All of the engravings were passages he had previously written in Valentine's Day, Birthday and Anniversary cards. They said: 'All My Love, All My Life,' 'Always and Forever' and 'Today Begins Forever.' He loved them. He even thanked me for them in his speech! We will be using them again soon on our first year anniversary. They are a treasure to us.

We told my family I was pregnant with the crystal encrusted fortune cookie. The quote was "There is a grandchild in your future!". We gave it to them at a Chinese restaurant for dessert. It was priceless.

My parents celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on August 22, 2009. I worked with Karen at Things Remembered in Tower City (Cleveland, Ohio) to select the perfect gift. We decided upon two wine glasses where we would engrave a scroll, above which read "Joe & Betty" and under read 2009, with the 2 and the 9 larger than the zeros. We had dinner at an upscale seafood restaurant. When they ordered wine, it was served in their personalized glasses. My parents were shocked yet touched by the personalized gift!

My daughter's 21st was approaching and knowing that her birthday fell on a very special date (8-9-10), I wanted to give her something special to remember it by. At Things Remembered I immediately found the perfect gift. It was a silver picture frame with the word "daughter" written beautifully in cursive across the top. All I needed to do was add a loving personalization from her Mom & Dad and that special date. She said it will look just perfect on her dresser and I am so happy that she has something so beautiful to remember her special birthday by.

As a brand new manager of an office of 10, I truly didn't know what to get my employees for Christmas. I didn't want to get anything impersonal and yet I didn't really know them each well enough to shop for gifts from the heart. I also didn't want to spend a ton of money. I went to Things Remembered and purchased personalized ornaments for each of the girls. My colleagues were so appreciative of a manager who finally took the time to personalize Christmas gifts at the office!

I had 2 little sisters that I had been separated from for 36 years. The last time we had seen each other, I was 14 and they were 3 and 5. After searching for them for many years, my youngest sister finally came across a posting I had made in search of them. We made contact and decided to meet on July 17, 2010. I went by Things Remembered in search of a special gift and chose a charm bracelet with a heart charm and had it engraved with "Whiteley Sisters - 7-17-2010." We each wore them proudly and our reunion was incredible. We have decided to add charms each time we meet. It has become very special to us.

My husband, Micah, came home from Officer's School for the US Army on the day before Christmas. He, obviously, hadn't had time to do any Christmas shopping for our daughter or me. He went to the local mall with my parents and made a bee-line for Things Remembered. He purchased and personalized two beautiful, matching bracelets for our daughter and me. Mine has my name and "The Love of My Life" engraved on it, and our daughter's has her name and "Daddy's Little Girl" engraved. It is one of my favorite and most beloved gifts; and, I get so many compliments on it. I love that our little girl will have that bracelet for forever. And, it was so special that it could be personalized in such a sweet way on Christmas Eve in the midst of all the last-minute shopping chaos.

For Father's Day 2010, I brought my children to choose an item to have engraved at Things Remembered. After much deliberation, we chose this beautiful mirrored box in which we had these words engraved: "You're The Best! We Love You Daddy!" It took two weeks in planning, but on Father's Day, my husband was woken up by all of our four children and they presented the box to him. Inside it was filled with letters from each of us, drawings, pictures and an array of gifts. It was wonderful to wake up with him surrounded by our children and really remember what Father's Day is all about together as a family.
My sister in law was heading off to college. She had never been away from her family and her home before, so everyone was nervous and a little sad. That's when I got the idea for a perfect gift for her graduation. I purchased a graduation photo album, had a special message engraved. I took tons of old and recent family photos and placed them in the album in order from when she was born to her high school graduation. I left the rest empty for her to continue her life story. She loved it! She took it with her to look through when she misses her family. I will never forget the look on her face when she opened the album and saw the photos tell the story of her life.

I am 38 and my husband of 17 years passed suddenly of a massive heart attack. My children picked out a special heart locket that was engraved with his name on the front and the date of his birthday and date of death on the back. I opened it to find 2 pictures of him inside. The heart means the world to me. I wear it every day and every time I look at it I remember my husband and the many wonderful years we had. I remember that he is forever in my heart, just like the heart I wear and will wear forever.

For mother's day I wanted to get my mom something special. I have given her the traditional flowers and candy, but recently my mother was diagnosed with leukemia. She has received so many flowers lately I figured that would just not be good enough for Mother's Day. I went out and bought her a heart-shaped vase and engraved "Mother, I love you" up the sides of the vase. It became the best Mother's Day gift she had ever had from her daughter. She broke into tears when she saw it. It was beautifully engraved, and now she always has a vase to place her flowers into.
